I have been a collector of coins for more than 35 years. My main interests in numismatics are history, varieties, and numismatic art. Collecting is also a good way to build up wealth. I was able to finance some of my education by selling coins.

I am a life member of The Canadian Numismatic Association, and the Canadian Paper Money Society.

I have been a serious collector and seller of bank notes since 1988. In Canada the Charlton catalogues are the premier references for coins, bank notes, and tokens. I am a contributor to the Charlton pricing panel for coins, bank notes, and tokens.

My fifteen years of experience with Canadian Bank notes has given me insight into how Canadian Bank notes are graded. The need for a grading service is to simply provide consistency in how a note is bought and sold.

Canadian Currency Grading service will provide consistent grading of notes. More uncirculated grades will be used to show the variation between notes that are offered as new. The website will provide a note registry allowing you to confirm the CCGS opinion of the grade of a particular note. On the note registry you can check the grade of a note with the unique serial numbers that are found on the majority of Canadian bank notes.

Listing the note registry on the internet will discourage people from trying to counterfeit the grading service opinions. Over time the registry will provide an accessible database on the population of the various bank notes and the conditions in existence.

Thank you for your interest in CCGS.
